Life is full of simple pleasures and precious moments.
I recently got to spend the day with my Grandpa in the "big city". We drove 90 miles to get groceries, run an errand or two and have lunch together...
This man who has been a part of my life as long as I can remember and who recently moved in with us, is a man I sometimes don't see, not on purpose, never intentionally, but life is busy, my kids take a lot of my time, energy and affection.
It was a gift to spend one on one time with him and just SEE him again!
He isn't a "selfie" taker, but we took one anyway.
He prefers not to listen to music in the car but I love music and it was my car and as we went along, he whistled to a tune or too...
He likes to stroll and do things slowly, I do everything fast. We met in the middle.
Isnt life wonderful? We can adapt, adjust and compromise and take the time to enjoy one another and it ends up being the most important thing we can do.
Thankful for these little moments.
Thankful for this man who I get to be around and have close in his last few years.
I hope I never forget this day, walking to the restaurant with my hand on his arm, a random goofy moment that is rare but was so freeing and a moment of pure joy....
Take the time.... enjoy one another....
There is no better investment than that of investing in people.
