There are many ways that Direct Selling can seem complicated, but keep it simple and follow these 6 steps to start seeing success.
1. Make connections and form relationships
You do not need to be an expert in sales.
People buy from people they know and trust, so building relationships is important.
Remember to be a BLT.
Believable, Likable and Trustworthy.
2. Consistency
If you offer a Tuesday tip regarding your products, post every Tuesday!
If you send thank you cards to your hosts, send them to EVERY host.
If you send customer care emails, send them regularly.
So on and so forth.
3. Be ready for business wherever you are
ALWAYS have catalogs, brochures, fliers or business cards on you.
You never know when you will run into someone who needs your product or service.
You want to be ready for business everywhere.
4. Pay Attention to your Customer Experience
A negative customer experience at any point in the customer life cycle can destroy your relationship. When you are an active listener, your customers feel heard.
If there is a problem, be sure they see you trying to solve it for them.
Happy customers are repeat customers.
5. Don't be afraid to say "I don't know"
This is sometimes the hardest part because we want to know everything our customers want answers to.
It's okay to be honest if you don't know, as long as you follow up with "..but I'll find out" and be sure you follow up with your customer once you have the answer!
6. Be YOU!
It is so easy, especially with access to many who sell online these days, to find things, phrasing and ideas you want to copy. Avoid this trap.
Be true to YOU.
Who you are, authentically, becomes your brand.
When you are using someone else's phrasing or word choices, it doesn't come across genuine and isn't as effective. There is only one YOU, be true to who that is!
